Selections and extracts copied from transcripts of Colonial Office papers which had been made in London for the New York State Library in Albany. This volume illustrates one of Draper's methods of gathering source material, but not long after his copies were made, the records were published.

Lyman Copeland Draper (1815-1891), American historian known for his studies of the history of trans-Allegheny West.
